Dear Middle School Parents:

As you may know, parent teacher conferences will be upon us soon. In order to make the process as smooth as possible, we wanted to provide you with some specific informtion. Please note that you will not be able to register for a conference until October 28. Please view the parent letter as well as the PTC Wizard help guide for parents:
We believe that parent-teacher communication plays a vital role in the success of children. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to participate in a conference and we look forward to seeing you. As always, thank you for your continued support.

As part of our school improvement plan, we are working at creating a home-school compact. A compact is a document that outlines the basic shared responsibilities of staff, parents and students to ensure our students have a fruitful learning experience. To create the document, students and staff at Westfield have provided ideas and given feedback to several drafts. Before finalizing the document, we would like for parents to provide input as well. Below are two links. The first link is the most recent draft. Please review this draft while completing the survey. The second link is the survey. All information that you provide is confidential, and we will not ask you for any personal information. Please also note that while we will not include all suggestions, we will strongly consider all comments in the formulation of this document. The survey will close on October 7, 2013. Thank you for your input!

As a reminder, tomorrow is another middle school late start. School begins at 10:10am.

2013 ISAT Results

9/13/2013

ISAT results will be sent home today with students in grades 4-8, including sixth graders who attended Lincoln Prairie, Neubert, and Lake in the Hills Elementary School last year. There are two specific items that you should expect to see.
  1. The student booklet containing your child's individual results. Students in grades 5 and 8 will have results in the areas of math, reading and science, while students in grades 4, 6, and 7 will have results in the areas of math and reading.
  2. A letter from Community Unit School District 300. Last year the state board realigned the scoring of the ISAT. Please view the letter to gain a better understanding of these changes.

If your child began attending Westfield (or the elementary feeder school for sixth graders) after March 2013, he/she may not be bringing home results. In this instance, contact your child's previous school for this information.
