Attention Westfield Community School,

Have you been going through your attic, garage, or basement this past week getting your holiday decorations out?  Are you noticing a lot of “stuff” that you don’t use? How about your closets and toy rooms…. Do you have extra items accumulating there? We have a solution for your stuff!

The Westfield Community School Relay for Life team is hosting an in-door Rummage Sale and Craft Fair on Saturday, January 25. Why not bring your extra “stuff” and try to sell it? We will provide the space, tables, and advertising, you bring a cash box and your items priced to sell. You get to keep any profit you make, all while supporting a good cause- the Westfield Relay for Life Team.  See the attached flier for more information or contact the Middle School office at 847-532-7600.

As part of our school improvement plan, we are working at creating a home-school compact. A compact is a document that outlines the basic shared responsibilities of staff, parents and students to ensure our students have a fruitful learning experience. To create the document, students and staff at Westfield have provided ideas and given feedback to several drafts. Before finalizing the document, we would like for parents to provide input as well. Below are two links. The first link is the most recent draft. Please review this draft while completing the survey. The second link is the survey. All information that you provide is confidential, and we will not ask you for any personal information. Please also note that while we will not include all suggestions, we will strongly consider all comments in the formulation of this document. The survey will close on October 7, 2013. Thank you for your input!

2013 ISAT Results

9/13/2013

ISAT results will be sent home today with students in grades 4-8, including sixth graders who attended Lincoln Prairie, Neubert, and Lake in the Hills Elementary School last year. There are two specific items that you should expect to see.
  1. The student booklet containing your child's individual results. Students in grades 5 and 8 will have results in the areas of math, reading and science, while students in grades 4, 6, and 7 will have results in the areas of math and reading.
  2. A letter from Community Unit School District 300. Last year the state board realigned the scoring of the ISAT. Please view the letter to gain a better understanding of these changes.

If your child began attending Westfield (or the elementary feeder school for sixth graders) after March 2013, he/she may not be bringing home results. In this instance, contact your child's previous school for this information.

Students at Westfield in grades 2-8 now have access to Compass Learning at home and at school. Additionally, Compass Learning now integrates with Scantron for students in grades 4-8 to create individual learning paths. Please follow the link to view the letter for more information.
